John Harris places at CT Stage Race

Mystic Velo Junior John Harris places in several different stages at the CT Stage Race.  Congrats John, and keep up the great work!  Final results for John: Stage 1 - 21st, Stage 2 - 2nd!, Stage 3 - 18th, General Classification - 15th (Out of 70 starters) Bonus Points KOM - 1 Overall 10th, SPRINT - 6 Overall 7th!!! In other words, John did a great job.

John Harris wins at Wayne Elliott

Mystic Velo Club Junior John Harris outsprints the CAT 4 field to take top honors at Wayne Elliott!

John outsprinted the field of 50 by about 20 feet to cruise to a win.  Congrats John!

On the second to the last lap John tried to organize a three man break-away, but it didn't happen. Then on the last lap, approaching the final turn, he got spit out to the front and no one wanted to take their pulls. He realized he was 10 feet ahead of the peloton, so he sprinted for the turn and knew he could take it full speed but the peloton would have to slow down. This increased his lead. He immediately accelerated out of the turn and headed for the downhill. Once reaching the downhill he knew he had to work down the hill because he figured that no one else in the peloton would want to do the same. By then he had a sizable lead. He knew the peloton was working to catch up but was able to cross the finish line 20 feet ahead of them.  Great effort!

Nate Etchells takes 3rd at Miles Standish

Mystic Velo Junior Nate Etchells takes 3rd at Miles Standish after leading the main pack.  Great ride, Nathan! The two McCormack brothers tied for 1st and 2nd in a breakaway, then Nathan took the finish ahead of the main pack, getting 3rd overall. Great result!
